sahasrani satani ca
vyatiyur bhramatas tasmin
visnu-mayavrtatmanah
Translation:
Countless millions of years passed as Markandeya wandered about in that deluge, his mind bewildered by the illusory energy of Lord Visnu, the Supreme Personality of Godhead.
