yathabudho jalam hitva

 praticchannam tad-udbhavaih

abhyeti mrga-trsnam vai

 tadvat tvaham paran-mukhah

 

Translation: 

Just as a fool overlooks a body of water covered by the vegetation growing in it and chases a mirage, so I have turned away from You.
