tam avisantam alokya

 mrtyum atmana asanat

manasvi sahasotthaya

 jagrhe so ’si-carmani

 

Translation: 

 

Seeing Lord Krsna approaching like death personified, the quick-witted Kamsa instantly rose from his seat and took up his sword and shield.
