madhyandina-gato nrpa
vijaya-nama sa prokta
yasyam janma vidur hareh
Translation by His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada:
O King, when the Lord appeared — on dvadasi, the twelfth day of the moon — the sun was at the meridian, as every learned scholar knows. This dvadasi is called Vijaya.
